The Junior Corps began in 2008 due to the huge interest in the corps from younger children who lived in Kidsgrove. Many of the members are siblings of members who march with the senior corps and friends who have gained an interest in the activity.

Kidsgrove Scouts understand the importance of retaining interest in the corps because ultimately, these younger members are the future of Kidsgrove Scouts.

The Junior Corps fielded their first full show in 2008. Their hard work and effort through rehearsals paid off as they were crowned DCUK champions.

In 2009 the junior corps finished a successful season in 2nd place at DCUK finals and in 2010 were again crowned DCUK Junior Class Champions.

After a hugely successful season in 2011 the Juniors were crowned DCUK and BYBA Junior Class Champions taking all captions at both competitions.
