Senior Corps

In 2010 Kidsgrove Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps celebrated their 100 year anniversary. 2010 marked 100 years of teamwork, commitment, hard work and effort from all involved in the organisation. Over the years the whole organisation has gone from strength to strength with the highlights being in 2007 and 2009 when Kidsgrove Scouts were crowned DCUK champions.

In 2010, to celebrate their 100 year anniversary the corps travelled to Rochester in New York to compete in the Drum Corps Associates World Championships where they finished in sixth place out of eleven competing corps'. On their return to the UK the corps when on to be crowned UK Champions in the 2010 Drum Corps United Kingdom Championships and a week later were crowned European Champions at the Drum Corps Europe Championships in Kerkrade, Holland.

Each year the senior corps fields a show executed by talented musicians and performers. The show is performed in competition throughout the UK and Europe, culminating at the DCE Championship Finals in the Netherlands.

All of the staff and members work hard and give up a lot of their time to create a championship standard show that audiences and judges will enjoy. There are hundreds of hours spent each year getting the show to a brilliant standard, not just from the marching members but supporters, support staff, family and friends alike.

Over the years Kidsgrove Scouts have had the opportunity to work with some fantastically skilled instructional staff from the UK, Europe and America as well as boasting many talented in house staff. Together, with the skills of the staff and the commitment and talent of the marching member Kidsgrove Scouts, are able to improve as a unit year on year. Kidsgrove’s show style is highly recognisable on the drum corps circuit and a proven success.

The corps has recently announced that they’ll be returning to America in 2012 to compete in the Drum Corps Associates Championships in Annapolis, Maryland.
