Kidsgrove Scouts Senior Winterguard will not compete for the 2012 season. After months of planning and preparation it became clear that as an organisation we were going to need to make some tough decisions.

After returning to the WGUK in 2007 we have had some wonderful years on the circuit, our bronze medal finish last year being one of many great memories we have.

The decision to return to the DCA World Championships in 2012 with the Senior Drum Corps was a key part in the decision. Some members felt they needed a break, as they had done winter and summer now for over five years, some members needed to take the winter off in order to work so to save for their DCA trip. Other factors such as cost, time to plan and design also played their part, it was certainly a very difficult decision to make.

Kidsgrove Scouts will fully support any members wishing to still march the Winterguard season with other units and would like to take this opportunity to wish all guards in all classes the very best of luck for the 2012 season.
